The Energy Chronicles

How Green Are You?

Many of us take the opportunity to “Go Green” on St. Patrick’s Day. We will attend parties and parades, dress up in green costumes, partake in a corned beef and cabbage meal, or maybe even drink a few green beers. We become Irish for a day, but what about the rest of the year?  Going green has a deeper connotation than a single day celebration.  Green becomes a mindset of how you live and use energy.  Have you taken advantage of utility companies energy efficiency programs designed to save precious energy?  Rebates are generally available to help with the up-front cost of added insulation, efficient LED lighting, heating and cooling equipment, along with other measures for your home or business.  Not sure where to start? How about an energy assessment by one of the trained energy professionals at The Energy Group?  They can identify what makes sense, and where to make energy efficiency investments. Some utilities offer no-cost online energy assessments as well to help you gauge energy-saving strategies.  Bottom line is making your home or business as efficient as practical, saving energy, and saving money on your utility bill. Keep the green in your pocket; now go find that corned beef and cabbage meal on St. Patrick’s Day.
