Des Moines Public Schools earns Energy Star Partner of the Year Award for the 8th year in a row!

The Energy Group is excited to congratulate Des Moines Public Schools on earning Energy Star Partner of the Year Award for the 8th year in a row. The highest honor among ENERGY STAR Awards was won again by Des Moines Public Schools. It is the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year—Sustained Excellence Award. The Environmental Protection Association (EPA) presents the Sustained Excellence Award to partners that have already received ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year recognition for a minimum of two consecutive years and have gone above and beyond the criteria needed to qualify for recognition. Looking at their accomplishments in the following link, you’ll see they certainly have gone above and beyond.

For more than 20 years, we’ve been fortunate to provide energy efficiency consulting to Des Moines Public Schools as they take on the massive effort to reduce energy use and have high performing buildings. They have seen great success as they have reduced their energy cost to 40% less than the national average! Energy projects not only include your standard lighting and Heating/Cooling equipment, but more intensive advanced Energy Management System strategies, lighting redesigns, hybrid geothermal with gas-fired boilers, and more.

This 8th award is a testament to our joint commitment to reduce the energy costs at public facilities for the greater good of their communities. Most opportunities were first identified through the use of bench-marking and trending; services we are happy to provide. Please contact us today and we’ll be happy to discuss your opportunities.
